Cabinets - Biological safety cabinet is a device that encloses a work place in such a way as to protect workers from aerosol and exposure to infectious disease agents. It acts as a barrier between the worker and the infectious material.
Air that contains the infections material is sterilized, either by heat, ultraviolet light, or most commonly by passage through a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. According to the British Standard there are three classes of cabinets which are classified on the basis of the degree of biological containment they afford.
