Cubicle
Isolation - Where patients are nursed alone in a room separated by a door and corridor from others. In cubicle isolation clean, filtered air is supplied to the room and usually the room is at negative pressure to the corridor for source isolation or at positive pressure to the corridor for protective isolation.
In the former case it is said to be exhaust ventilated and in the latter case pressure ventilated. In critical situation, for example in bone marrow transplant units, the efficiency of air filtration may be increased. Laminar air flow can also be maintained as a barrier around the patient.
