Laminar Flow Ventilation

Laminar Flow Ventilation - This is an ultra clean ventilation system but is very expensive. Air is drawn in from the atmosphere and passes through a 5μm filter with 95 percent efficiency. About 80% of the air in the room is recycled through this filter. Before the air is delivered to the operating site it is passed through high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters with 0.3μm pore size and 99.97 percent efficiency.

Thus, bacterial contamination is prevented. Coarse filters should be changed every 3-4 months depending upon the climatic conditions while HEPA filters should be changed every six months.
