Pulmonary Anthrax

Pulmonary Anthrax - Anthrax is mainly a disease of herbivorous animals. Pulmonary anthrax is contracted by humans. It is mainly a localized infection of the skin, lungs or intestine. Bacillus anthracis is the causative agent. Transmission is mainly by inhaling the dust contaminated by animal products. For instance, sorting or combing of raw wool contaminated with spores disseminates the agent.
