Aminoalkly Adenylates -Guanylyl-5'-methylene diphosphonate (GDPCP) is a competitive inhibitor of G TP. It inhibits protein synthesis at all intermediate steps requiring GTP-GDP hydrolysis (in initiation. AA--tRNA binding, translocation and termination).
Fusidic acid has a steroid-like structure, and is active against gram positive bacteria, but not against gram negative bacteria, fungi or mammalian cells. It inhibits EF G or EF-T2 activity. Its major effect on intact cells appears to be due to its secondary inhibition of AA-tRNA binding to ribosomes.
