Diptheria Toxin

Diptheria Toxin - The intact diphtheria toxin (MW-63,000) is enzymatically inactive. After attachment to the cell it enters the cytosol and is cleaved into two fragments, A (MW 24,000) and B (MW 39,000). Fragment B is necessary for the attachment of the toxin to the cell. Fragment A inactivates the free form of EF-12.
