Hadacidin - This antibiotic is produced by many species of Penicillium. It inhibits the incorporation of various precursors into adenine nucleotide, but has no effect on the biosynthesis of guanine nucleotides. It has both antimicrobial and anticancer activity. The latter has proved to be clinically disappointing in humans.
