Neomycin Kanamycin And Gentamycin

Neomycin Kanamycin And Gentamycin - These three aminoglycoside antibiotics have a similar effect 6n protein biosynthesis to that of streptomycin, and in fact produce higher levels of misreading. They interact with 30S subunits, probably at several sites, and strongly inhibit peptide bond formation. Inactive 70S monosomes are formed in the presence of neomycin, and produce extensive misreading. The P10, protein is involved in inhibitory action ill the case of kanamycin, and probably also neomycin.
