Fungal
Cells -
In
yeasts
and
molds,
the
outermost
structure
is
generally
the
cell
wall.
Some
pathogenic
yeasts
produce
a
capsular
material
and
the
composition
of
capsule
when
produced,
is
a
polysaccharide.
Generally,
structures
such
as
flagella
are
not
seen
in
vegetative
cells
but
in
fungi
some
spores
may
be
motile.
Fimbriae
like
structures
have
been
described
in
ustilago
and
yeasts
and
these
appear
to
be
involved
in
flocculation
and
transfer
of
genetic
material.
These
fungal
fimbriae
contain
both
proteins
and
carbohydrates.
