The Fungal
Cytoplasm cell
contains
the
nucleus,
the
mito
chondria,
other
cytoplasmic
DNA
components
in
addition
to
ribosomes
and
other
small
molecular
weight
molecules.
The
nucleus
contains
the
major
part
of
the
genetic
material
(n-DNA)
and
this
genetic
material
is
found
in
a
limited
number
of
structural
elements
known
as
chromosomes.
The
chromosomes
consist
of
DNA
as
well
as
a
few
basic
proteins
called
histones.
In
addition
to
this
the
nuclei
also
contain
a
large
number
of
proteins
or
enzymes
involved
in
replication
and
transcription
of
DNA.
The
nuclear
membrane
appears
to
be
similar
to
unit
membrane
and
is
lipoprotein
in
composition.
