Chlorobiaceae - Chlorobacteriacae Green S Bacteria-I. CHLOROBIACEAE (Chlorobacteriacae) - green S bacteria.Only one photosystem, PS I . 2. Photosynthetic pigments 3. Electron sources are H2S, S, thiosulphate or molecular hydrogen. Emit sulphate as by-product. 4. Respiration is strictly anaerobic. 5.Genera: Chlorobium, Chloropseudomonas, Pelodictyon, Clathrochloris, Chlorobacterium.

6. Some species grow heterotrophically, e. g. on pyruvate, in the dark. All can fix H_ photosynthetically. 7. A reversed TCA cycle for CO2 fixation is reported to operate in  place of the Calvin-Benson cycle in some species.
