Desulfovibrio - The sulphate released by the green sulphur bacteria, was used by some neighbouring bacteria, leading to sulphate respiration, as in Desulfovibrio. This bacterium is a chemoorganotroph which obtains energy by anaerobic respiration, reducing sulphates or other sulphur compounds to H₂S.
