Propagation Strand Transfer
Increase in the length of the heteroduplex regions may take place after the formation of a cross connection between homologous DNA molecules. The increase either takes place asymmetrically or symmetrically. Asymmetrical increase is brought about by the transfer of a strand from one molecule to another. Symmetrical increase take$ place by exchange of strands between molecules.
