Synthesis-
Most of the proteinaceous spore coats are synthesized during stage V.
The electrondense spore coats are formed outside the outer membrane surrounding the cortex
Accumulation of Ca++ and DPA continues, and the fore spore becomes phase white.
It acquires resistance to octanal and the capacity to germinate. Large amounts, of cysteine are incorporated into the coat.
In the B. cereus group a thin exosporium is formed around the spore coat.
