Gram Negative Bacterial Cell Envelope

Gram Negative Bacterial Cell Envelope - In gram negative bacteria the cell envelope is composed of two 75A unit membranes separated by a 100A space called the periplasmic region.

This space contains a peptidoglycan layer.

The outer membrane is also called the cell wall, while the inner membrane is designated as the cytoplasmic membrane
