Ø6 - dsRNA Phages

Ø6 - dsRNA Phages -

The pseudomonas phage Ø6 is the only phage known to, have a dsRNA genome. The phage is also characterized by the fact that it has a lipid envelope.

The lipid is presumably in the form of a bilayer. It does not appear to be budded off from cellular membranes, but appears to assemble the membrane de novo.
