Protein -
This additional protein is found in the Qβ phage. It is a minor component, and has a molecular weight of 38,000. It is formed when translation of the coat protein continues beyond the coat protein termination site.
It is thus a read through from the coat cistron into the subsequent nucleotide sequence.
