Phages -
The Mu phage is so called because of its ability to induce mutations in bacterial genes. It consists of an icosahedral head, 54 nm in diameter, and a contractile tail sheath 100 nm long and 18 nm wide.
The tail ei1ds in a baseplate which has it least three tail spikes.
