The gene 1 deoxynucleoside monophosphate (dNMP) kinase is a multifunctional enzyme which phosphorylates HMdCMP, dGMP and dTMP to the respective diphosphates (HMdCDP, dGDP and dTOP).It should be noted that the phosphorylation of dAMP to dADP is catalysed by a host enzyme only, and not by a phage coded enzyme.
