Deoxynucleotide Kinase I

Deoxynucleotide Kinase I - The gene 1 deoxynucleoside monophosphate (dNMP) kinase is a multifunctional enzyme which phosphorylates HMdCMP, dGMP and dTMP to the respective diphosphates (HMdCDP, dGDP and dTOP).It should be noted that the phosphorylation of dAMP to dADP is catalysed by a host enzyme only, and not by a phage coded enzyme.

Similarly, the ultimate step in DNA synthesis, namely the conversion of deoxynucleoside diphosphates (dNDPs) to triphosphates (dNTPs) also does not appear to be catalysed by phage coded enzymes.
