Bacteriophages - Bacteriophages are viral parasites of bacteria. Almost every group of prokaryote organisms has bacteriophages as parasites. Bacteriophages are specially adapted for attachment and penetration through the rigid cell wall surrounding most prokaryote cells. Bacteriophages may contain ssDNA, dsDNA, ssRNA or dsRNA.
