2,4-Dichlorophenoxy
Known as phenoxyalkanoic acids or phenoxy herbicides, these herbicides are extensively investigated and well known. They are degraded by microorganisms of the genera Pseudomonas, Achromobacter, Flavobacterium, Cornebacterium, Arthrobacter and Sporocytophaga. Known as hormone weed killers, they are active against broad leaved weeds.
