This insecticide is another chlorine containing benzene having several isomers (molecules containing the same kind and numbers of atoms but differing in internal arrangement of those atoms) named after Greek letters, alpha, beta, gamma, delta and epsilon but only the gamma isomer has insecticidal properties and the remaining serve as inactive filler ingredients.
