Non-Genetic Ribonucleic Acid
In the organisms (viz. prokaryotes and eukaryotes). where coded genetic informations are contained in the DNA molecule different genetically cant rolled functions of their cells are performed by a different kind of nucleic acid. called non-genetic ribonucleic acid (RNA). In the cells of such organisms the DNA molecule occurs in the chromosomes of nucleus or nucleoids of eukaryotes or prokaryotes respectively and process of protein synthesis occurs in the cytoplasm. It is investigated that a DNA molecule does not leave the nucleus to participate directly in the process of protein synthesis but employs different types of non-genetic ribonucleic acid molecules for carrying its genetic informations from the nucleus to the site of protein synthesis. i.e ribosomes. Thus the DNA molecule acts as a template for the synthesis of different non-genetic RNA molecules which copy down the coded genetic informations of DNA molecule during their DNA dependent synthesis (i.e. transcription).
