Antirejection Mechanism
To arrest rejection it is often necessary to suppress the immune system. There are certain methods to do that. One method is by use of drugs. There are antimitotic drugs which prevent multiplication of lym-phocytes in the lymph nodes. Such drugs are, azathioprine, Cyclosporin A etc. Another method includes the introduction of antibodies against the lymphocytes. There are also used some steroid hormones like prednisone.
