IgE
IgE
consists
of
two
kappa
or
lambda
L
chains
and
two
epsilon
H
chains.
Like
the
mu
chains
of
IgM,the
epsilon
chains
have
an
additional
constant
segment.
IgE
has
a
role
in
hypersensitivity
reactions
like
allergic
asthma
and
dermatitis.
It
may
also
be
the
cause
of
hay
fever
type
allergies,
and
may
function
in
the
rejection
of
intestinal
parasites.
