Macromolecular
Approach -
The
above
mentioned
approaches
are
based
mainly
on
the
phenotypic
traits.
The
growth
of
molecular
biology
has
now
opened
up
a
number
of
new
approaches
to
microbial
taxonomy.
For
identification
and
classification
of
bacteria
a
range
of
criteria
are
now
used.
Some
of
the
criteria
are
represented.
The
shape
and
size
of
organism,
its
oxygen,
pH
and
temperature
requirements,
and
laboratory
culture
characteristics
are
considered.
