Transport of Microorganisms in Air

Transport of Microorganisms in Air
The transport of bio-aerosols is primarily governed by hydrodynamic and kinetic factors while their fate is dependent on their specific chemical make-up and the meteorological parameters to which they are exposed. The vast majority of airborne microbes are immediately inactivated as a result of environmental stresses (dessication, temperature, and oxygen).

Bio aerosol particles can be either solid or liquid and can come from a
number of natural and anthropogenic sources.

Naturally occurring bio-aerosols are injected into the atmosphere either by chance (wind, rain, bursting bubbles, etc.) or by processes governed by natural selection.
