Mangrove Ecosystem
The word 'mangrove' originates from 'mangue', a combination of the Malay, Spanish, French or Portuguese for 'wood' and' grove' English for' a small wood'. Mangroves are the special types of habitats found in the coasts of subtropical and tropical countries. They are bordered by shallow sea water and thus protected from direct wave action. Mangroves are defined as a type of coastal woody vegetation that fringes muddy saline shores and estuaries in tropical and subtropical regions.
