Fluoresent
Microscopy process
consists
of
coating
a
microbe
with fluorescent dye
such
as
fluorescein
and
illuminating
it
with
ultraviolet
light.
As
the
electrons
in
the
dye
are
excited,
they
move
to
high
energy
levels,
then
quickly
drop
back
giving
off
the
excess
energy
as
visible
light.
The
object
appears
to
fluoresce.
The
most
important
application
of
this microscopy is
in
the Fluorescent
antibody
techniques
