Glutamate Synthase Pathway -

Tempest et al., (1970) discovered the glutamate synthase (GOGAT) in Aerobacter aerogenes grown in a chemost stat under conditions of ammonia limitation. There are four reactions in this pathway, the nitrogenase reaction, the glutamine synthetase (GS) reaction, the glutamate synthase (GOGAT) reaction and the transaminase reaction.
