Potyvirus Group - Potato Virus Y (PVY), Potato Virus A (PVA)
PVY is also a naked, flexous rod. In combination with PYX it causes rugose mosaic of potato. This disease causes severe damage. The foliage is mottled, severely wrinkled, puckered and markedly reduced in size.

The leaf margins are rolled downwards and the entire plant dwarfed. There is blighting of leaves in severe attacks. PVY is also called Solanum virus 2.

Potato virus A (PVA) (Solanum virus)
3)
PVA in combination with PYX causes crinkle of potato. This disease closely resembles rugose mosaic of potato, but is characterized by larger yellow patches on the foliage, which becomes brittle and easily injured.
