Myxobacteria -
They
are
Gram
negative
coccus
like
or
often
fusiform
rods,
3-12
µm
long,
Producing
distinct
masses
of
slime
in
which
they
live
communally.
On
solid
substrates
they
form
communal
structures
that
consist
of
flat,
spreadmg,
slimy
colonies
with
lobulated
extensions,
and
are
usually
called
a
swarm
stage
or
pseudoplasmodium.
They
multiply
by
binary
transverse
fission.
