Inchworn Theory of Ribosome Model

Inchworn Theory of Ribosome Model - According to this theory binding of aminoacyl tRNA to the A site creates a kink or loop in tRNA. By rotation of tRNA about its long axis this kink is straightened out by EF-G and GTP, resulting in translocation of peptidyl tRNA from the A to P site. The theory is so called because of the resemblance of the looping movement of mRNA to the locomotion of the inchworm.
