Role of Ribosomal Proteins

Role of Ribosomal Proteins - EF G reactions require the ribosomal proteins L-7 and L-12.The 308 subunit proteins S1, S2, S3, S5. S9, S10 and S14 are also implicated. In the absence of these proteins the 30S subunit is unable to associate with the 50S subunits to from the 70S ribosome. Consequently the hydrolysis of GTP cannot take place and the EP-G reaction is inhibited.
