Incision in Replication

Incision in Replication - The DNA of chromosomes consists of many replicating units or replicons. According to one model replication is initiated in each replicon only after a break in one of the two parental strands. The break ('nick') is presumed to take place at a specific initiation point. It is made by an incision enzyme (endonuclease).
