The Soil Box

This technique involves the use of wooden boxes having on one side close­ly fitting but separate and removable perspex (plexyglass) segments.

The roots are observed through the transparent perspex segments and at desired intervals, rhizosphere samples could be obtained to study microor­ganisms at different depths of the soil.
