Stains For Virus Elementary Bodies And Rickettsiae
Virus elementary bodies are also visible by Giemsa's stain. This method is satisfactory for the demonstration of elementary bodies of vaccinia and psittacosis. The elementary bodies of Chlamydia can be readily visible by the staining method described for Brucella abortus detection. However, this method is now replaced by other methods which are quicker, free from deposites and yielding more consistent results. They are as follows
