Methods of Chlorination

Methods of Chlorination - The presence of ammonia and other organic matters, which may react with chlorine, complicates the chlorination procedures. Moreover, there should some chlorine be left out, in the disinfected water to act on any other microorganisms which may find their way into the treated water.

Hence, the method of chlorination practiced should provide a residual effect. To satisfy these requirements various procedures have been employed in chlorination.
