Treatment - Most of the suspended solids in water and wastewater are removed by conventional treatment procedures. However, some of the constituents still present in the treated waters and require additional treatment.
Removal of these substances can effectively be done by chemical treatment procedures. Soluble inorganic matter can be removed by precipitation or ion exchange techniques. Soluble non biodegradable substances can be removed by adsorption.
