Water
Water is infact a vehicle for the transfer of a wide range of diseases of microbial origin. The important bacterial diseases include typhoid fever, cholera and bacterial dysentry that are generally transmitted when human feces from carriers or patients contaminates the water.
Viral diseases transmitted by water include virus A hepatitis and polio. Many protozoa form cysts which survive for long periods in water. The causal agents of amoebiasis, giardiasis etc. are important concerns in water pollution.
